With Harry Draper serving a one match suspension Kelan Swales returned to the starting line up in an amended formation that saw Luke Rawson as the main striker.
It was an open game throughout with Sedge looking confident in their passing ability without causing the Nailers too many problems at the back.
With Swales and Keaton August on either flank the Nailers had plenty of exciting moments, and the opening goal scored in the 17th minute by Rawson came from a perfectly flighted cross from Swales.
Jeremie Mulambo and Desmond Amponsah were particularly noticeable as potential dangermen for the visitors and in the 23rd minute Keiron Preston made a fingertip save to deny Mulambo an equaliser.
Nathan Whitehead sent Jake Oram sprawling to save a twenty-five-yard effort in the 26th minute, and after lots of football played by both teams. the nearest either side got to scoring was on 40 minutes when August weaved his way inside the box and his cross was met by Harrison Poulter whose shot hit the outside of the upright.
It was even stevens in the early stages of the second half with defences coping with what was thrown at them. Swales hit a left footed shot just wide on 61 minutes, then the Nailers scored a second goal a minute later.
In a particularly productive spell from August, he provided the cross that brought the initial shot from Curtis Burrows that Oram parried, however Swales was quickest to react, and he nipped in to put the ball in the net.
The visitors responded with some impressive man to man football but were effectively kept out with solid defensive performances particularly from Ioan Evans and Jack Broadhurst.
Jack Crook’s shot on 67 minutes was on target but no trouble for Preston, then the Nailers survived an almighty goal mouth scramble in the six-yard area close to the end, but the ball was safely cleared.
A lengthy seven minutes added time was managed well by the Nailers who went on to secure their seventh win in nine league outings with only Emley in front of them in the league table, and the Nailers have a game in hand.
